There are quite a few people from Ohio here and quite a few from other places...How about breaking the subjects into states. It would allow people to tell stories about their area and relate it to people from that area. Example I mainly catfish the Muskingum river (OH). I could log into the Ohio portion of the forum and tell my tales/share info etc. Someone from Georgia could talk about their lake/river and so on. Check out www.morels.com they have a pretty good region breakdown for the boards.

I use water depth tables religiously. There are USGS measures all over the Muskingum river that I use as a reference to decide where to fish. Maybe links to this info would be good? Turn the site into a catfishing information portal? For example I use this site http://www.thetent.com/thetent/aogcr/oh/ohsf_index.htm
It gives me all the stream flow conditions for OH (takes a while to load be very patient). But that site works for the entire US. If you goggle Muskingum river conditions you can find direct results from USGS sites but I just like the clickable statewide option.

I have about 1000 other resource ideas as well. Maps/seasons/fish&game links from state to state/baits/regions/weather and it just keeps going.

Or you just happen to live somewhere else. You can find the stream flow conditions resources here:

Dan
Maybe one site can do it all.
NOAA has a consolidation of current river flows
and predictions of changes.

I added this search to Katchaser

I use that site. I like the prediction portion. They don't have my Dresden gauge like the USGS service does.

I have learned to read the Zanesville and Coshocton prediction at NOAA in conjunction with the USGS gauge at Dresden with amazing accuracy.
Those are great tools and not just for fisherman. Boaters and recreational waterway users should take notice of them for safety reasons. Many times I have seen the river raise in my area so fast there is barely enough time to load the boat before getting your feet wet as the sand bars and gravel bars disappear under the water.

Hey thats the data from the same gauge. No advanced prediction feature like Zanesville and Coshocton but there never was at that gauge. I didn't know that gauge was listed there.
I created a bookmark for http://www.thetent.com/thetent/aogcr/oh/ohsf_index.htm years ago and just used their links for the USGS data. Apparently NOAA is a one stop shop for river conditions after all. Thanks for the heads up!
