I read an article and an editorial in my In-Fisherman magazines
that sounded so true that it amazed me.
The editorial was about fishermen guestimating fish weights.
One spectator at a walleye tournament asked the writer where
all the reported 9 to11 pound walleyes were at weigh in.
He replied that the 6 -8 pounds were what the big walleyes
turn into when on a registered scale.
The article was about records kept at walleye tournaments.
The added the total fish caught and the amount of hours fished
and found that walleye professional anglers spent 6,665 hours
fishing for each 10 pound walleye caught. These professionals
fishing in top walleye waters produced an 11 pound walleye
for each 49,910 hours fished.
If I equate a 40+ flathead with a 10 pound walleye it makes me
feel like a much better fisherman than if I figure how many hours
I fish to catch one _________________ Catchabiggun,

Vince Lombardi said "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity".
The more you fish, the more opportunities you will provide yourself. _________________ Catchabiggun,

Just wanted everyone to look at the statistics and understand how long it may take to find a real trophy. _________________ Catchabiggun,
