Got out this evening ahead of the storm front. I could only fish until around 11:30 with work tomorrow morning. About a half hour after I dropped baits I had my first run of the season and landed a little 7 pound flathead. I rebated and re-dropped, and around 2 hours later got another steady run on the same rod. This one ended up being a tad bigger at just under 25 pounds. Nothing big but I'm glad to get the skunk off and get this season rolling.

Nice job. Nothing like wiping the skunk smell off for the year. You're braver tham me going out last night. I suppose it varied depending on where you were, but it was wicked here. The worst was north of me, but only by a few miles. |

Nice flathead. Remember to cancel fishing when lightning is around.
It is not good to be the highest point on water when lightning strikes. _________________ Catchabiggun,

Now ya got the ball rollin. Nice job. My buddy asked me to fish a bass tourny with him, he said I was the only crazy enough friend that he could think of that would go. I was figured there wouldn't be many guys show but still ended up with 24 crazy fishermen. The bass did not play well with the storm. We caught a lot of short fish but no keepers. Only 6 pounds won it. _________________ Brock |
