Went out last night, and at least escaped the skunk that's been following me for the last few weeks. 28 lbs, better than nothing. Also caught bunch of channel cats. Interestingly, not one fish ran with the bait. They all picked it up and just sat there, maybe moving 5' every once in a while. This fish broke the surface 100 yards out and again at about 50 yards. I thought it may be a musky for a bit, I've not had a flathead do that before.
It was cold and clear, and the flashlight was hardly needed with the moon. Water temp was 63 degrees, so not too cold yet, but it may not last till next week. I'll keep the boat in the garage for another week.

Way to go. Maybe you should break out the rompers and fish a couple more nights.
Flathead have seemed content to eat baits and sit still for a few weeks now.
Even the channel cats sit still for a long time sometimes but it may be because the flathead baits fill them up so much. _________________ Catchabiggun,

I also heard it seems colder if your pants get wet while paddling a kayak. _________________ Catchabiggun,

That's for sure. I learned after the first time, take an extra pair of pants. |
