After years of me touting the big blues on the James river a new blue cat record has been caught in Virginia.
This fish didn't come from the James river but instead was caught
March 17 by Tony Milam from South Boston Va. 109 pounds.
I still insist there are bigger blues in the James but then again there may be bigger ones in Kerr reservoir (buggs Island) _________________ Catchabiggun,

Like I said big blues also reside in the James River.
Here is Archie Gold with a 95.7 pound blue.
And an 88!
Archie and a 13 yr old client pose with a 71 1/2 pound giant.
I recieved an e-mail from Archie and he reported he has caught 8 blue cats over 70 since Christmas.
Neil Renouf also guides on the James
Here he poses with a 76!
A lady with a 71!
An 81!
Rob Nash (Justcrazy's dad) got this 82 on the James. _________________ Catchabiggun,

I fished with Chris Harris maybe 10 years ago.
Over six foot of rock hard muscle and gristle, Chris chases the James river blues.
Chris Eberwein is the James river wildman.
Here he is with an 83 pound blue.
You are supposed to look at the fish!!
I saw Chris one day on the James. His clients cancelled and he was fishing
by himself for fun! I guess he didn't have the day off
Kip and his boyz love fishing with Hugh Self.
Here is Hugh with a 71 3/4 pound James river blue.
Bobby Self with a toad. _________________ Catchabiggun,

The fishing was very slow but I was glad to break my old personal best with that 76lb fish. It is the biggest for his new boat, but dad still has the biggest for Niel as a guide. Of all the people out there it took a couple of Buckeyes to get the big fish!

Heres a couple from the last 2 years that we have caught. I think Dads hooked after making his first trip to the James, especially after the biggest fish before that was a 15# channel cat. No monsters but def. made the trip worth while. The best part of the trip is when dad told me
"I know now why you spend so much time doing this". Its personal preference but we do really enjoy fishing with Capt. Hugh.
