Channel cats are caught through the ice in 8-10 water.
This week I could find no fish in water less than 15 feet.

Why do the forktails go deeper after ice out?

Is there a food source there or are they simply following baitfish?

Do they just hang out in stable water conditions or are they starting to prefer night feeding now that more light penetrates the water column?
