Fished with Brittan last night after that heavy rain with high hopes. We set our baits and fought off the mosquitos and channel cats the best we could. I had to leave for work around 5:00 a.m., but Brittan stayed behind to fish the morning hours. About a half hour later I got a text from him saying he landed a 41. Lately we've been experimenting with leaving one bait of the set very near the bank. So far those have been the hot baits with the water up the way it is. Congrats to my buddy on his first lake flat and the new PB. He put in about a dozen nights this spring before catching this fish, and ended up in waste deep water to land it after I left. Hell of a way to earn it.
This male showed no signs of spawning marks yet from this season.
