Fished solo last night...this trip would mark my 16th reservoir flathead trip of 2013. Got set up early in a spot that looked productive. Although I had high hopes for the area...the concentration of mosquitoes in the area made it unfishable for me. So at midnight I made a move to an area I had scouted out as a "back-up" for this reservoir..in case my original spots were taken. I got set up around 12:20 and had a run at 12:30...I set the hook hard into a heavy fish and it pulled a close to locked down drag on a shimano tekota 600 for what seemed like close to 20 seconds...then the line went slack...lost the fish. Although I lost the fish along with my temper I see this as a confidence booster. Fish are moving and its only a matter of time until the post spawn bite is in full swing. He's mine next time |

sounds as if they are moving. I will be putting minimum 3 nights in this week. Good or bad I always learn and have a good time. It's my first season targeting them in reservoirs so I really don't expect much but i may get lucky! |

Sis and I will be back on the water this week. Hopefully the big males will start feeding hard. _________________ Catchabiggun,
