I think I have fished three times since febuary, A local guide has spread some lies about me GPS,ing peoples holes and my heart just hasn't been into it.
I still want to get me a big old flathead and come sept, and Oct, I plan on spending a whole bunch of time out there. Have you been doing any good Robby, Thats probably a dump question to ask, You have probably already caught a bunch of biguns this year. |

Tom
We are just planning and getting ready. The flatheads won't get active till water is over 65 degrees. 2-3 more weeks at least.
I may need to catch a 50 just to get Mmagis motivated into going fishing _________________ Catchabiggun,

Sounds good, I still got a whole bunch to learn about fishing for flatheads, But I found a place when the water was low, and I plan on fishing that area, and see what happen's its the biggest root ball that I have seen on the cumberland and when I was fishing for bluegills last summer I caught a small flathead outta there, and I'm sure there's a bigun lurking around, I'll keep you feller's posted if and when it happen's. |

Me and Steve are heading out tonite and try our luck, I am going to sit up on some fallen trees that have good root piles and there's a creek channel that leads into the river, We are going to sit up at the mouth and see what happen's, if we do good I'll post the results.
WISH US LUCK***** ........We will need it |

Those are some awesome cats Steve!
Question for anyone:
How do you think the fishing the Cumberland will be effected due to the water levels being lowered to fix the dam?Ive heard theories that it will be like shooting fish in a barrel due to them being grouped closer together.Whats your take on this? |

The river water level is held steady because the
barge traffic must have it to navigate.
But the flow rate is down a bit and makes
fishing a bit more difficult. _________________ Catchabiggun,

Dave
I just got off the phone with Joe Hall a guide in Clarksville Tn. and a very good friend of mine. He told me that the dam that is being fixed is way up river and does not affect the area around the Clarksville area at all. The current is slower and makes it a little bit harder to catch blues right now. But spring is around the corner and the current will pick back up due to the rain.
I am not sure if this was the part of the river you were asking about or not, but hopes it helps. _________________ www.skipperrods.com
