The ice thawed early in Feb here and probably released much of the winter killed shad trapped in it.

I have heard no reports of people fishing for channel cats where feeder creeks dump into lakes. My guess is the water refreezing will greatly diminish the effects of the shad bite after thaw.

I will watch because anglers at Alum Creek often take advantage of that big channel cat bite.
