After flathead fishing I took my wife bluegill fishing.
First spot got just one little gill so I moved to some bluffs to get the pontoon out of the wind. Bluegill didn't cooperate there either so I tossed out my Abus with cut gill to see if I could pick up channel cats.
I got a channel cat about every 20 minutes including 3 or 4 over 10 pounds. I lost 2 big fish when the hooks pulled out and I thought one was a small flathead.
I also lost 2 on the anchor rope that were 20-30 pound flathead and a very big channel cat on the anchor rope. These were really unexpected during the daylight on cut bait. I underestimated the flatheads ability to work the lighter tackle over on short lines and failed to wear them down before getting them close.
My wife was impressed with the channel cats and didn't worry too much about the flathead. _________________ Catchabiggun,

That would be an unexpected surprise in the daytime. If I had that sort of action bluegill fishing I'd never make it flathead fishing. |

Mike
I had the same kind of channel cat action Wed morning.
Even a bonus flathead (5-6 pounds) _________________ Catchabiggun,
